2. Submission Proposal Structure

Submissions must be uploaded via the miamispectrum.com portal by November 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST. Proposals must include a structured abstract and 1-page executive summary with the following sections:

A. Non-Confidential Executive Summary (Maximum 1,000 words)

• Project Title & Investigator Details: Name, academic title, institutional affiliation, mentor(s), and co-investigators.
• Unmet Clinical Need: Clear statement of the clinical gap or therapeutic challenge being addressed.
• Proposed Solution & Hypothesis: Specific aims, core scientific rationale, and proposed interventional technique, device utilization, or therapeutic regimen.
• Study Design & Methodology: Brief overview of study design (e.g., prospective pilot, ex-vivo model, retrospective multi-center registry, preclinical feasibility study), sample size justification, and major endpoints.
• 12-Month Deliverables & Milestones: Key performance indicators achievable between Spectrum 27 and Spectrum 28 (e.g., protocol finalization, IRB approval, initial patient accrual, mid-term data readout).
• Budget & Industry Resource Ask: Itemized budget estimate and explicit statement of requested industry support (e.g., direct unrestricted grant funding, provision of medical devices/disposables, assay processing, software/imaging access).

3. Review Process & Scoring Criteria

Proposals will undergo a review process by the Spectrum Scientific Committee. Selected study proposals will be notified.

4. Post-Award & Governance Requirements

• Institutional Fund Routing: All industry financial support secured through Innovation Spectrum will be disbursed directly by the sponsor to the presenter's academic institution as a formal unrestricted educational or research grant. No direct payments to individuals are permitted.
• Spectrum 28 Presentation: Supported awardees are required to submit an interim progress report or preliminary data abstract for presentation at Spectrum 28.
• Intellectual Property: All IP developed during the research remains the property of the investigator and/or their academic institution, governed by standard institutional tech-transfer policies and formal industry grant agreements.
